I think vmware needs to write license key into installation path. If anybody vmware workstation 12 pro with key free download problem at clicking “finish”, you may have to start vmware as root, or start from terminal and authenticate the permission. Perfectly working on Ubuntu Worked for me! Works fine here on Linux.
